VC, KVIB reviews implementation of PMEGP, JKREGP schemes

JAMMU, Nov 5: Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB reviewed the implementation of Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) at a meeting of District Officers of Jammu Division here today.
Addressing the officers, she said that J&K Khadi &Village Industries Board (KVIB) can greatly contribute in promoting socio economic development of the newly formed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir by establishing more and more industrial units. She said that expansion of high technology industrial sector would increase employment rate in the region.
The Secretary/CEO J&K KVIB, Rashid Ahmad Qadri gave a detailed resume of the performance achieved in Jammu Division under PMEGP. He informed that Jammu Division has surpassed the targets of 286 units allotted to it by 82.8%, disbursing an amount of Rs. 7.09 crore to 313 units. In respect of JKREGP, against 529 units involving an amount of Rs. 13.06 crore sanctioned, an amount of Rs. 5.76 crore has been released to 250 units.
The Secretary advised the District Officers to report the cases to the Head of the Department with full details that remain unattended in the Bank for more than 45 days so that the same can be reported in the SLBC meetings. The District Officers were also advised to organize at least one round of DLTFC meeting within next fifteen days.
