| Azad expresses concern over road accidents in Doda | | |
Jammu, Nov 13
Former Union Minister and Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday expressed concern over rising number of accidents in erstwhile Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Azad arrived here this morning on three day visit to Jammu region.
"It is unfortunate that entirely Doda region is in grief over Tuesdays accident in which 16 people were killed and one injured," Mr Azad here told reporters.
He said that many innocent lives are claimed in road mishaps in Doda every year and the government must take notice of it.
"I appeal to the new J&K LG Girish Chandra Murmu to take measures to prevent road accidents so that many lives can be saved," he said.
He, however, said that he will meet people in Doda and also visit to aggrieved families of road accident.
