| Concluding ceremony of "Millennial Smiles" held at IGGDC | | |

JAMMU, Nov 23: Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu today held the concluding ceremony of the Children's Day celebration function hosted by its Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. The theme of the function was "Millennial Smiles" and its objective was to spread mass awareness about the dental hygiene. The fortnight-long celebration was marked by debates, poster competitions, slogan competitions among other things. Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education department, Atal Dulloo who was Chief Guest on the occasion stressed on the need to spread mass awareness about the benefits of dental hygiene. He said that if dental problems are tacked at a very younger age then the there are minimal chances of recurring them at the adult stage.
He also said that in any campaign Information, education and Communication (IEC) is very important so that the message reaches to a larger audience in a better perspective.
He said that the duty of the health department is to work as a team in a coordinated manner for the benefit of the public. He assured the Principal of the college that all their issues like strengthening of faculty, equipping the college with modern technology, providing hostel and other issues will be sorted out. |
