| How officials loot SKIMS resources | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, Nov 23: Putting a huge burden on the exchequer, vehicles of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura are being used by officials for their personal use.
Sources said some influential employees are using official vehicles despite not entitled for any such services.
Two ambulances deputed at Director SKIMS's office for official work are often used for ferrying family members of some employees posted in Director's office.
The ambulances are hardly available for official work.
"It has become a routine for these officials to use official vehicles for personal use. SKIMS have to spent lakhs of rupees on the fuel charges annually on these vehicles which are being misused by officials," sources said.
The SKIMS is already facing financial constraints. Earlier, SKIMS raised rates of tests and admission fees so that Institution could be run in a better way.
"But these officials are misusing its resources and putting a huge burden on exchequer," sources said.
Sources said the issue was brought into the notice of higher authorities several times but no action was taken.
Here does not end misuse of exchequer at SKIMS.
Sources said that on of the officials here is also enjoying free accommodation (C-Type quarter) which is illegal. Other employees have to pay house rent allowance, maintenance charges and electricity charges etc.
"Another official posted in Director office pantry also have free accommodation in SKIMS premises and misuse funds allocated for refreshment at Director's office," a top official said.
"They misuse official capacity of Director and use benefits and perks for personal benefits," sources alleged . However Director is unaware about their conduct and behavior at office. This is gross misuse of official capacity," they added. |
