Leaders like Pragya Thakur reveal true face of BJP: Harsh
11/28/2019 9:35:53 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 28: Accusing the BJP of allowing its party MP Pragya Thakur to fire outrageous salvos one after the other against the national heroes and abominating the "Father of the Nation" while glorifying Godse besides allowing immunity to her for her other nasty outbursts, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister said that the Saffron party had stood thoroughly exposed for its hypocrisy and double standards.
As per press statement issued here, he said that the defiant MP had all along been reinforcing the politics of hatred against Gandhian ideals valourising the murder and decorating the assassin as 'desh bhakt' with the Modi Govt having abdicated its responsibility of appropriately responding to the nasty conduct of the BJP leader. He said that mere removal of the MP from one of the Parliamentary Committees was only a deceptive move to buy time and allow the public anger to subside with passage of time.
Reminding the BJP of the highly opprobrious statements made by the controversial MP, Singh said that it was Pragya Thakur who had disrespected the supreme sacrifice of Hemant Karkare , the hero of 26/11 Mumbai attacks by saying that he was killed due to her curse. Again, it was the same Pragya Thakur who had claimed herself to be a proud member of a team that had demolished Babri masjid . And after winning 2019 elections, the said MP had made a statement that she had not become an MP to clean drains or toilets, a disparaging allusion to central flagship scheme of 'Swachh Bharat Mission', dedicated to the Father of the Nation. She had further announced not to participate in the Padyatra launched on Oct 2 to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi.
He said that the present government was answerable to the people of the country as to whether it stood with Gandhi or Godse. He said that in shielding the Malegaon blast accused MP, facing trial under unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the BJP seemed to be defending the indefensible. Earlier when she was appointed as a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence to advise the govt over matters of national security, the nation was taken aghast with huge uproar in the Parliament as well.
The BJP had then tried to justify her appointment by saying that Pragya could help in framing the right methodology so that innocents were not victimized. What an explanation?, lamented Singh while taking a pot shot at the so called " principled politics" of the ruling party. He added that leaders like Pragya revealed the true face of BJP.
