Jammu, Dec 16: Under 19 Baroda cricket team defeated Jammu and Kashmir by six wickets while chasing down 174 runs on the final day of the match here at search Gandhi Memorial College Science Ground Jammu.
The match was dominated by spinner from both sides saw Baroda taking lead and securing 6 points. The Jammu and Kashmir team has now lost three matches and won just one. While Jammu and Kashmir have 6 points in four matches.
Earlier, Under 19 team Baroda had won the toss and elected to field. However, the first day of the match was called off due to bad light. Jammu and Kashmir's team were bundled out for 148 runs in the first inning. However, the team bounced back by restricting Baroda for 218 runs.
Dishkant Kundal was the highest scorer for Jammu and Kashmir team in the first inning by scoring 55 runs. While as Lakshyajeet P scored highest for Baroda.
In second innings, Jammu and Kashmir team scored 239 runs, while trailing 70 runs. In score or 239 runs, 160 runs were scored by Musaif Ajaz (95) and wicket-keeper captain Kanhaiya Wadhawan (65), while rest failed to score big.
However, while chasing down the score of 171 runs, team Baroda lost 4 wickets under the score 50. But it was K.T Marathe and Mahesh Pithiya who took the game away from Jammu and Kashmir. Both the batsman scored half-centuries. Mahesh scored 63 runs and Marathe scored 64 runs.
Scorecard. Baroda first inning 218 all out, second inning 171/4 defeats Jammu and Kashmir first inning 148 all out, Second Inning 239 all out by six wickets.
