KATHUA, Dec 17: Excise Department destroyed about 40 litres of illicit liquor and 1950 Kgs of Lahan during different raids carried out to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
A team of excise staff led by Inspector Excise Arun Kumar, Razi Ahmad and Aman Sharma along with SI Amit Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar & Excise Guards Rajinder Singh and Mohd Sharief raided the Kangdyal, Barnoti, Upper Saktachak and Lower Saktachak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. The raid was conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner M Raju and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu S. Amarjeet Singh & ETO Mohd Rafie Naik.
In the process about 40 litres of illicit liquor and 1950 Kgs of Lahan raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from state land & later destroyed on spot. |
