DDC Ramban reviews status of disaster preparedness, progress of languishing projects

RAMBAN DECEMBER 18: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today reviewed the progress of languishing projects besides chairing a meeting to discuss disaster preparedness to take preventive measures in advance to meet any eventuality in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC Ashok Kumar, ACR Harbans Lal, CPO Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACD Zameer Rishu, Executive Engineer of PDD & PMGSY, CMO, AD, FCS &CA, CEO and various district and sectoral officers were attended the meeting.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on disaster preparedness and management scenario in the district. DDC was apprised by the concerned officers that sufficient stock of food grains, disaster management kits, sandbags, tents and other essentials have been made available to meet any kind of eventuality.

DDC directed the all departments and SDRF in district to submit resource inventory all items including men and machinery. He also reviewed the status of response teams and directed to the officers to constitute well equipped joint rescue teams comprising Army, Police, Para- military forces, Fire and Emergency, SDRF, trained voluntaries etc.

Meanwhile, the DDC reviewed progress of languishing projects being executing by the different departments in the district.

DDC reviewed the physical and financial progress of projects of PHE, PWD, RDD, Irrigation, Education and local bodies.

He directed the officers to accelerate the pace of ongoing work to achieve the tangible results and stressed on convergences of resources of different department for better results on the ground to meet the aspirations of the public.

DDC directed the concerned authorities to submit the report of losses and damages caused due to resent rain and snowfall in their respective jurisdictions to committee headed by the ADDC for early grant of compensations.

He asked the officers to put in extra efforts for judicious and effective utilization of funds besides removing bottlenecks hindering developmental works. He also directed the officers to ensure public participation in developmental activities.
