Bad lights forces day 1 play between J&K and Assam to 18 over's

Jammu, Dec 25: The first day of the Ranji Match played between Jammu and Kashmir between Assam was called after due to the bad lights here at the Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground, Jammu on Wednesday.
Jammu and Kashmir team score 59 for the loss of one wicket before day was called off due to bad lights. Only 18 over's bowled on the first day of the match. Earlier, Assam won the toss and opted to bowl first. Jammu and Kashmir had a good start with Ahmad Banday and Suryansh Raina contributing 44 runs partnership.
Ahmad Banday was the only wicket to fall on the first day of the match which was called off by the officials of the match after 18 over's were bowled. The weather in the Jammu was bit cloudy with 12 degree Celsius temperature.
A match official said, "The light was very low to continue the match as it was the pacers that were bowling from both the ends". Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir had done two changes in the squad, Man of the match winner in first game Ram Dayal was replaced by Rohit Sharma and Henan Nazir replaced out of form Owais Shah.
Jammu and Kashmir had come strong in the match while winning two back to back matches by defeating Maharashtra last week and Uttarakhand in the first match. Jammu and Kashmir team had defeated Uttarakhand by 253 runs in the first match Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun. While in the second match Jammu and Kashmir had won the game in the last day thriller against Maharashtra at MCA Cricket Stadium, Gahunje, Pune. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir cricket team ace cricketer was out of the playing in the third match. Rasool who took the team to first ever quarterfinals a few years back has reportedly suffered some injuries and is expected to join the team soon. Jammu and Kashmir is currently placed 4th in Elite Group C with 12 points in 2 matches.
