J&K thrashes Jharkhand by innings and 27 runs

Jammu, Jan 6: The Jammu and Kashmir is having dream run in Ranji Trophy season as they registered their third win of the season against Jharkhand by an innings and 27 runs. The match was played at Ranchi, the home ground of Jharkhand team. It was all too simple for the Jammu and Kashmir team as they bowled out Jharkhand in the first session of the day four. Coming to bat on day four, Jharkhand were on the score of 103 runs with four wickets. And, then it was the Aquib Nabi who bamboozled the batting order of host Jharkhand.
Jharkhand managed 155 runs in second innings, while Jammu and Kashmir had scored 441 runs in first innings. For Jharkhand, Nazim Siddiqui was the highest scorer in second innings.
Aquib Nabi took five wickets in the second innings, handing Jammu and Kashmir a comprehensive, while Jharkhand lost six wickets on 51 runs. Jharkhand were never in the game after Jammu and Kashmir posted huge score in first innings.
Earlier Jharkhand won the toss and chose to bat and scored 170 runs for the loss of four wickets on Day 1. While on day 2, Jharkhand were bundled out for 259 and Jammu and Kashmir ended the day on 135 for the loss of three wickets.
While on day 3, it was the Abdul Samad, who scored quick 128 runs in 75 balls on day three that took the game away from Jharkhand. He has now scored back to back centuries in two Ranji Matches, one against Assam that ended in draw and one against Jharkhand.
The win against Jharkhand by Jammu and Kashmir gave latter three points and has put J&K on third position. And, Jharkhand is on fourth position. Jammu and Kashmir has won three games in four matches, while one game ended in draw against Assam due to bad lights.
Jammu and Kashmir has earlier defeated Uttarkhand by 253 runs next they outclassed Maharashtra by 54 runs. Third game against Assam ended in Draw and next was Jharkhand today. Jammu and Kashmir will next play against Services.
Score card: J&K 441 runs, Abdul Samad 128 runs defeats Jharkhand first innings 259, second innings 155 by innings and 27 runs.
