Election to vacant posts of Panches, Sarpanches opens real face of BJP: AAP
1/8/2020 11:06:47 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 8: Apropos to the news item published in a section of press regarding holding of elections to the vacant posts of Panches and Sarpances in Jammu & Kashmir in second tier of Panchayati Raj, the J&K Aam Aadmi Party, in a press release issued here, have expressed satisfaction to the extent that at least real face of BJP has been exposed before the masses of J&K so far it comes to empowering Panchayats & holding of Panchayat elections in the J&K UTs on one hand and implementing 73rd & 74th amendments of Indian constitution provisions, in the J&K, on another hand.
Elaborating the release said that in order to befool the masses, elections for the 2nd Tier were announced the present dispensation being remote controlled directly from New Delhi, to be held here on 24th Oct.2019 without waiting for a week as said amendments would have automatically been made applicable in J&K on 1st November 2019 in view of J&K Re-organization Act.2019, while they (BJP stalwarts) had been crying from roof tops that they are the real champions of democracy and democratic institutions, the release said and added that in fact they, along with other Political Parties be it Congress, NC or PDP, is the real killers of democracy & its Institutions and the people are now virtually feeling that there is no difference between BJP rule & Congress-NC rules and that in fact, it is like putting “ New wine in old Bottles” so far it relates to decentralization of powers into the hands of public representatives.
The release further said now elections to vacant posts of Panches & Sarpanches to the extent of 12,696 posts in Kashmir & 465 in Jammu totaling 13,161 posts is an attempt to put a seal on the illegal & un-constitutional the procedure adopted in Oct.2019 to the election of Chairpersons of Block Development Council in which 64% electorates comprising of 13,161 vacant posts of Panches & Sarpanches across J&K.
What sort of regard to democracy & democratic Institutions they are showing where 64% electorates are absent? The release asked and questioned as to why elections to BDC chairpersons were not held in November. 2019, when 73rd the amendment would have been applicable here in which full public representations would have possible instead of Panches & Sarpanches.
