Tamil Nadu outclass J&K by 8 wickets, J&K out of the tournament

Jammu, Jan 8: It was an all easy win for Tamil Nadu U-19 team against Jammu and Kashmir as the latter were defeated by 8 wickets in Cooch Behar Trophy at SNR College Cricket Ground Coimbatore.
Jammu and Kashmir had won the toss and had opted for batting. Coming to bat in first innings, Jammu and Kashmir were bundled out for 57 runs in first day of the match. Only two players out of the 11 were able to score in double figures, while four batsmen even failed to open their account.
Govind Sharma was the highest scorer for Jammu and Kashmir in first innings, he managed 23 runs in 33 balls, while bowler Basit Bashir was second highest score maker, Basit scored 15 runs. Openers Diskhant Kundal and Mohammad Hurrair failed to score big, while middle order batsman could not open their account. For Tamil Nadu, Joy Gupta bamboozled the batting order of Jammu and Kashmir in first innings, by taking five wickets by conceding 24 runs in 10 over's. Rest of the wickets was taken Prashid two wickets and one wicket each by other bowlers.
Tamil Nadu posed a massive score in first innings, with Pradosh Ranjan Pual scoring mammoth 140 runs in quick 127 balls, which took the game away from Jammu and Kashmir. Rest it was Vikram (35) and Boopathi (35) who added few runs to the team as Tamil Nadu scored 249 runs in first innings.
For Jammu and Kashmir Sampark Gupta took four wickets in mere 6.2 over's conceding 32 runs. While Basit Sharma took the same in 19 over's conceding 87 runs with 4.58 run rate. Jammu and Kashmir learned the mistake from first innings and tried to score in second innings.
However, Jammu and Kashmir had a huge trail of 192 in second innings, which was too much for tour team. J&K scored 268 runs in second innings and Tamil Nadu chased the score of 77 runs in final innings with ease losing two wickets and sealing six points.
With a loss against Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir is out of the tournament as J&K managed to win only one game in seven matches and is placed 7th in Elite Group C.
