Amit conducts security review & joint tour of GMC, Associated hospitals

Jammu, Jan 8: Amit Sharma, Administrator Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu today chaired a thorough review meeting today regarding the prevailing security scenario prevailing inside the top Medical Institutions of the winter capital of the Union Territory. This was followed by a Joint Inspection Round inside the Campus of GMC Hospital Complex. The officers who attended the said meeting and accompanied Administrator in Inspection Round included SDPO Bakshi Nagar Amit Sharma, Sub-Inspector Ravinder Singh I/c GMC Police Post, Medical Superintendent GMC Hospital Dr Dara Singh, Personnel Officer Deepika Rana, Emergency I/c Dr Bharat Bhushan amongst others.
Administrator Amit Sharma told the medical authorities as well as security agencies to maintain total cohesion and synergy in handling various critical issues relating to law and order, security and public order as the safety and comfort of OPD and IPD Patients is paramount and top priority of the Hospital Administration which cannot be compromised at any cost. As per directions of Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, various sectors of Hospital Administration are being reviewed and all necessary measures shall be taken in this behalf, purely in the interest and welfare of the patients. Amit Sharma expressed deep concern over the increasing rate of thefts and conflicts inside the Hospital complexes and directed Police authorities and Medical Superintendent to increase the security cover in this behalf wherever required. While reviewing the existing security set-up inside the hospital, it was decided that more security cover especially in Civil Dresses shall be provided inside the Hospital Complexes so that the culprits can be caught red-handed in future. The Chair of the Meeting Administrator Associated Hospitals Amit Sharma decided that necessary measures shall be taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic, better transport and parking management, automation of OPD slips, implementation of Hospital Information Management System to decongest and create better working conditions inside Jammu hospitals. It was also deliberated that there shall be installation of more CCTVs especially High Zoom and 360 turn-around Cameras inside and outside the Wards, Emergency, Entrance and Exit of Hospital complexes. Also, a Joint Inspection Round was taken by Administrator Amit Sharma alongwith SDPO Bakshi Nagar and Medical Superintendent GMCH wherein all outer areas were checked and strict directions were issued to ensure Systematic Parking of Vehicles and Charging of Approved Rates only, issuance of Registration-based Stickers for Departmental Vehicles, Clearance of All kinds of Vehicles parked outside Emergency except requisite Ambulances, ensuring No-Entry of Unauthorised Vehicles inside the Hospital Complex, Clearance of all Illegal Encroachments within and outside in the official property of GMCH and Associated Hospitals in the near future. It was further decided by the Chair Amit Sharma that next week, a higher level Meeting shall be organised wherein SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, Commissioner JMC, RTO Jammu, and other senior officers shall be invited to resolve lot of important long pending issues in the interest of patients care and optimal hospital administration.
