JAMMU, Jan 13: Heavy rainfall washed away the opening day of the Col C K Nayudu match between Jammu and Kashmir and Railways here in Jammu on Monday. The match is to be played at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground, Jammu.
The Jammu city received precipitation from early morning way before the match could take place. However, the match referees made inception many a times but to no avail. The match was later called off by the official at 01:40 PM without a single ball bowled.
"The match could not be started and it is obvious because of heavy rain. Whole ground was wet including the 22 yard pitch. We will say what will happen till tomorrow. Every area needs to be dry than game will be played", said a match official.
Jammu and Kashmir had come in the game after winning last game over first innings lead and secured three points against Haryana. So far, Jammu and Kashmir has played three games, wherein Jammu and Kashmir had won two games and lost one.
Jammu and Kashmir has won game against Jharkhand on first inning lead, while they lost the second against Chhattisgarh.
The last game Jammu and Kashmir played was against Haryana. Jammu and Kashmir is currently placed fifth in Elite Group C with 7 points in three games with six games to play.
