1/13/2020 11:18:00 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Jan 13: Amid conflicting reports about granting of domicile to the natives of erstwhile state of J&K, Union Government has reported asked administration of Union Territory (UT) to stop further recruitment still clarification on all issues.
Union Government is thinking on different aspects how to protect job and land rights of the people of J&K.
Credible sources in the corridors of power revealed that Centre has suggested J&K government to stop fresh recruitment for the time being because decision of domicile and other issues yet to be taken by the Union Government.
Credible sources said that many decision regarding J&K were likely to be taken within a couple of months so Union Government has given this suggestion to the J&K administration.
Recently recruitment notification issued by the J&K High Court was withdrawn by the J&K government following triggering of controversy.
Notifications for fresh recruitment in different government departments will be issued only after final decision on ‘domicile like option’ or ‘other arrangements’ will be taken.
Credible sources said that after Centre’s suggestions, J&K Government has given directions to different departments not to issue any recruitment notice for the ‘time being’ because Union Government was mulling over taking some steps to ‘protect’ land and job rights of the locals.
On December 26, 2019 J&K High Court had issued recruitment notice which had opened jobs for the non-residents of J&K and Ladakh.
A massive controversy had erupted very next day after issuance of the notice as political and social organizations vociferously opposed the move to open jobs for non-locals. These groups warned that opening of jobs to outsiders was unacceptable and announced to launch agitation against failure of the government to protect job rights of local unemployed youth.
Keeping in view the anger of the people, the J&K High Court on December 31, withdrew the recruitment notice which has opened jobs for the non-residents of J&K and Ladakh to pacify the enraged lot. December 26 was first recruitment notification after bifurcation of J&K into two UTs and abrogation of Article 370.
