UTDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu celebrates 8th Annual Raising Day

JAMMU, Jan 19: UTDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu today celebrated its 8th Annual Raising Day at Bn. Hqrs. Jammu.
SSP, Commandant of the Bn. Nisha Nathyal, inspected the Bn. Quarter Guard and took salute of UTDRF Parade Contingent.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant congratulated the officers and Jawans on Raising Day. She elaborated the need and purpose for creation of UTDRF to act as first responder of natural and manmade disasters. The Commandant further gave brief account of work done by the UTDRF personnel in respect of conducting awareness camps in Govt/Private Institutions, demonstrations and mock drill exercises of rescue operations during disasters, building capacity development of UTDRF personnel by conducting frequent in house training programmes at Bn. level and sending UTDRF personnel to outdoor training centres in/outside state.
The Commandant also appreciated the role of UTDRF personnel for their dedication and professionalism shown during various essential duties. She stated that during the year 2019, 183 new constables were recruited in this Bn. Also first time 92 SPOs were engaged in this Bn. to fulfil the deficiency of the Bn. During the year 29 HC’s were promoted as ASI, 19 Sg.Ct’s were promoted as HC and 24 Constables were promoted as Sg.Ct.
ADGP HG/CD & UTDRF J&K, Munir Ahmad Khan also conveyed his greetings on the occasion to all officers and Jawans of the organization.
A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion followed by Bara Khana for all ranks. Ranjit Kanwar SSP, S.O (Trainings) to ADGP HG/CD & UTDRF J&K, Vikas Gupta, SSP, I/C DIG HG/CD & UTDRF Jammu, Mohd Shabir, SSP S.O (Adm) to ADGP HG/CD & UTDRF J&K and all GO’s/staff also attended the function.
