Early Times Report

Anantnag, Jan 20: A brawl between President Municipal Committee Pahalgam and employees of the municipality broke out after the later marked them absent.
According to reports, President Municipal Committee Pahalgam Rayees Ahmad Lone and employees clashed inside the office of President and exchanged blows with each other. During scuffle, according to eye witnesses, furniture of President’s office was damaged.
President Municipal Committee Pahalgam Rayees Ahmad Lone told Early Times that around 11 eleven employees attacked him inside his office after he refused to mark them present.
“I straight forwardly conveyed them that I have marked absent and will not allow to touch the attendance register but they attacked and told me that you don’t have with our duties,” he said.
Lone said that he received injuries as he was beaten up by the employees. “I have filled complaint with police against the employees,” he said.
However, employees refuted the claims of President and said that he misbehaved with them and abused everyone inside office.
“He had marked us absent fallowing which we approached and pleaded that they were just few minutes late but instead of listening us he started abusing us and damaging the furniture of his office,” Irshad Ahmad, an employee of MC Pahalgam told ET.
He said that they too have filled a counter complaint with the Pahalgam Police and demanded stern action against the President who they say was ‘unnecessarily’ harassing employees.
Earlier, the executive Officer MC Pahalgam, Mohd Aslam Mir had also filled a written complaint against the President after the later threatened Executive Officer for carrying out anti-encroachment drive
Executive Officer had alleged that they (Chaiman and Vice-Chairman) manhandled him inside his office and restricted him from demolishing the illegal structures. Police had registered a case against the President.
