JAMMU, Jan 23: Amid Jammu on high alert ahead of Republic Day, a 2 to 3 months old baby was found nearby Blood Bank of the Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital, which is enough to expos the alertness of the management along with security, deployed in the hospital.
Despite having own as well as police security along with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras, the concerned authorities are yet to be traced the parents of the 2 to 3 months old baby, who was left nearby Blood Bank of the hospital a few days back. However, officials of the hospital claimed that there were no CCTV has been installed due to this the parents left the baby nearby the Blood Bank. Pointing out security lapse, an official of the hospital claimed that it was very unfortunate that amid high security ahead of Republic Day, this incident took place in the heart of city and premier hospital in Jammu city. If such an incident can take place then anything can happen in the hospital after that who will be held for its responsibility.
An official said that it was not the first incident that took place in the hospital as many newborn or few months old babies were found in the premises of the hospital but it appears that the concerned authority has not been learned any lesson from past. Instead of installing more CCTV cameras on the premises so that the entire hospital would be put under CCTV surveillance, the authority is deep slumber.
Admitting that CCTV cameras are not installed where the baby was found, Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital, Dr. Manoj Chalotra said that the baby was admitted in the hospital as soon as found nearby blood bank and concerned authority included Police along with the Child Welfare Committee were informed and they are looking at the matter.
Incahrge of Poilce Post, SMGS Hospital said that the parents were not treaced so far and police personnel are on job.
