IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu observes Swachhta Pakhwada 2020

Jammu, Jan 31: Jammu Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University observed ‘Swachhta Pakhwada 2020’ as per guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation w.e.f. January 16, 2020 which concluded today on January 31, 2020.
The 'Swachhta Pakhwada 2020' was inaugurated by administering of ‘Swachhta Pledge’ by Dr. Vikram Singh, Regional Director I/c to the staff of Regional Centre on January 16, 2020.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vikram Singh highlighted the importance of cleanliness and requested all officers and staff to ensure cleanliness at their workplace and surroundings.
During the Swachhta Pakhwada, RC Jammu is organizing various activities related to cleanliness awareness, tree plantation/sapling plantation, cleanliness awareness programmes in and around the nearby areas of the Regional Centre.
Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Sandeep Gupta and Dr. Asha Upadhyay visited the Study Centre 12119, Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur and participated in the Speech, Poster making and Slogan writing competitions organized by the said Institution in which around 50 students took part. Prizes were distributed among the three best creations in different categories.
In Poster competition, Neha, Suhasini and Kiran got first, second and third prize respectively; In slogan writing competition, Mudassir, Rajni and Rachna Kiran got first, second and third prize respectively; In speech, Rajni, Oshin and Neha got first, second and third prize respectively. The chairman, Principal of the College and Coordinator of the Study Centre, Prof P L Suri, were also present on the occasion.
