J&K requires 292 on final day to seal the game against Goa

JAMMU, Jan 31: Jammu and Kashmir U-23 requires 292 runs on the final day of the match to seal the game against the Goa in a Col C K Nayudu Trophy at Sanguem Cricket Gound, Sanguem.
Earlier Goa won the toss and scored 208 runs thanks to Ishaan Gadekar who batted well and scored 87 runs in 199 balls hitting 9 boundaries. Aditya Suryawanshi (32) and Deepraj Gaonkar (36) were the other score getters for the Goa team.
For Jammu and Kashmir, Captain Vivrant Sharma stood tall and took five wickets in 12 over’s conceding 28 runs.
He bowled tight line and bamboozled the middle order of Goa team. Lone Nasir Muzaffar got success too and took 3 crucial wickets.
Coming to bat in first innings, Jammu and Kashmir had a terrible start while losing two early wickets at a score of 21 runs.
Vivrant Sharma handed the one side of the crease and scored crucial 56 runs.
Muneeb Munaf was the highest run getter for Jammu and Kashmir scoring 65 runs.
Jammu and Kashmir scored 233 runs in 79.3 over’s in first innings, had they batted better the lead in the first innings would have been better.
Ishaan Gadekar much like in first innings batted beautifully again making bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir sweat hard.
Ishaan hit 19 boundaries and 3 sixes in his 187 runs of class batting performance while other batsman kept losing their wickets. Captain V G Kahlon and Ishaan had a partnership of 133 runs as Goa scored 357 runs in 106 over’s at a run rate of 3.37.
In bowling department for J&K, Lone Nasir Muzaffar, Sunil Kumar and Vivrant Sharmar took two wickets. While, Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai, Rouf Ahmad Bhat and Trag Jahid Nazir took one wicket each.
On day 3 stumps, Jammu and Kashmir had lost one wicket on the score of 41 runs and 292 runs to win and secure six points.
