DDC Doda kick-starts sanitation awareness campaign

DODA, Mar 2: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched the Swatchta Pakhwada, a fortnight sanitation awareness campaign, here from DC office.
The launch program was attended by President MC Doda, Ved Prakash Gupta; CPO, Parshotam Kumar; PO ICDS, Shahida Parveen; EO, MC Doda; AD Planning, Waseem Raja; staff of ICPS, Childline; Child welfare committee, Juvenile Justice Board besides scores of students.
The Swatchta Pakhwada Campaign has been organised by District Level Centre for women (Mahila shakti Kendra Doda) headed by Women Welfare officer, Kewal Krishan; besides by the District Co-coordinators Sanya Khan and Humerah Balwan.
The first day proceedings started with pledge taking ceremony, administered by the DDC, to the students and other participants for keeping the environment clean and green. It was followed by signature campaign in which many government officials as well as good number of women folk participated.
In his address, the DDC urged all the participants to take it as their personal responsibility to keep their surroundings neat and clean. He asked them to aware the general masses about the importance of cleanliness. He asked the medical authorities to organise a capacity building program for the field functionaries so that the aim and objectives of this program will reach out across the district.
The DDC also apprised the participants about the various activities being held in during the fortnight campaign viz awareness rallies, interactive sessions, cleanliness drives. He asked the municipal authorities to specially train the civic workers of the district about the scientific method of solid waste management.
