Jammu, Mar 2: Police-public interaction meeting was held in PS Peermitha, Jammu by SP City North, Jammu P D Nitya, SDPO North, Satish Kumar and SHO Peermitha Ghulam Hassan Kamal with the citizens of Talab Khatikan, Ranbir Market Association members and others. The issues discussed ranged from traffic problems, congestion of roads, lack of parking places, increasing menace of drug abuse, etc. The participants appreciated the initiative of District Jammu of the traffic week where number of challans were done and a visible change in the scenario was seen. They requested that more such Police presence be there to decongest the commercial lanes as shopkeepers have encroached a lot of space making it difficult for pedestrians to move around. Besides traffic, the participants also urged Police to conduct drug awareness camps in various localities so that youth gets aware and keep away from drug abuse. The meeting ended with a thanks note by all the participants with the assurance that such interactions will be timely done. |
