JAMMU, Mar 2: Vijay Choudhary, Corporator ward no 42, along with Ch.Manmohan Singh Former Mayor Jammu, held a meeting for senior citizens of sector of 3 and 5, in her office.
This meeting was attended by many senior members of the ward. Vijay Choudhary told the people present about her recent official tour to the city of Indore, where she and her colleagues were taken to visit to review their municipal structure. She shared her experience gained from the trip and hoped to embark on making few changes in our daily routine. Indore has been No. 1 for its sanitation for the past 4 years.
Vijay Choudhary insisted that if we should maintain our surroundings and locality in the same manner we treat our houses. If everyone is willing to cooperate and while making positive efforts, they make other people aware too, there is nothing stopping us from becoming the most clean and hygienic ward of all. She insisted upon making few changes, like not throwing garbage in drains. Also, people get maintenance done on their houses but dump the construction material on roads in heaps and piles.
Choudhary informed the residents present that soon, an auto service for door to door waste pickup will be provided for them. All the old lights will be replaced with new ones. Ch. Manmohan Singh appealed to the residents present to support their Corporator in making our ward an Ideal ward to live in. The senior citizens agreed and suggested Ch. Manmohan Singh and Vijay Choudhary to help form mohalla committee and and an advisory committee was formed immediately of sec 3 & 5, with Committee Chairman S.R. Amla, Retd. Principal leading a 5 member advisory committee. Of Sec 3, Sr. Jaswant Singh and of Sec 5, Ch. Devi Dass, each leading a 5 member committee of their Sector.
