International Women’s day celebrated

Jammu , Mar 8: District administration Kishtwar today celebrated the International Women's Day by organizing an impressive programme at Conference Hall New DC Office Complex Kishtwar here.
District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara presided over the function besides Additional district Development Commissioner kishtwar, Mohd Hanief Malik, ADC Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar, BDC Chairman Kishtwar, Suresh kumar Sharma, ACD kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch,BDO Kishtwar, Sheetal Sharma, ALC Kishtwar, Anoop Kumar, Sarpanches of kishtwar Block, Anganwadi workers and helpers, students among others locals participated in the celebration. During the celebration Nukkad Natak on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was presented by the students of different schools which kept the audience spell bound. Various speakers including the students of Govt. girls HSS Kishtwar also presented their views on the relevance and importance of celebration of this day.
Success stories of various Women achievers such as kiran Bedi, Hima Dass etc. were reproduced by the

During the celebration, Nukkad Natak on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was presented by the students of different schools which kept the audience spell bound. Various speakers including the students of Government Girls HSS Kishtwar also expressed their views on the relevance and importance of celebration of this day.
Recognizing the contribution of women Sarpanchs in upliftment of women in society, DDC felicitated the women Sarpanchs of Block Kishtwar with memento and certificates on the occasion and asked them to act as torch bearers for women empowerment in their respective Panchayats.
In connection with International Women's Day, District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah today organised an awareness camp here.
The camp, which was attended by Anganwari supervisors, workers, helpers and PLVs , was held under the chairmanship and supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah Ashok Kumar Shavan.
Speaking on the occasion retainer lawyer Advocate Manjeet Razdan, Advocate Fareed Ahmed Beg, Advocate Devya Kotwal and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik said that each day is a women's day because women are working round the clock whether at home or workplace.
The awareness camp was aimed at providing awareness to the people especially the women folk about their rights and duties.
The gathering was also provided information regarding different laws and acts in place for the protection of women's rights. It was mentioned that the aim of conducting such awareness programmes is to ensure that Women are given equal status and respect in all fields and they have constitutional and legal rights.
International Women's Day was celebrated at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Keya Ramnagar.
Both boys and girl students took active part in the event. Some of the students highlighted the importance of the day through debate while others through poems. Staff members namely Dr Rashmi Gupta, Rakesh Rahi, Ramesh Chander also spoke on the occasion to highlight the importance of the day.
Principal HSS Keya while appreciating the participants for their dedication and zeal also threw light on the IWD. Addressing the students and staff told about the history of the IWD and the role played by Clara Zetkin a German women who first mooted the idea of organising the women's Day.
Principal also highlighted the role played by eminent women personalities of the world and India in various fields like politics, armed forces, business, education , agriculture, science and technology and other fields. He also informed the students that our present worthy Director School Education Jammu is a woman who is doing great job and earlier commissioner /secretary school education was also a woman. Principal motivated the students especially the girls to take inspiration from the great women who have excelled in various fields and have served the country and society.
After the conclusion of the function prizes were distributed among the participants.
Gender Equality, work-life balance and personal improvement, these were the aspirational visions that arouse during the International women's day panel discussion that took place at International Delhi Public School.
During the session, a panel shared humorous experiences from their life and work. Panellist were Purnima Sharma - Deputy mayor JMC, Priya Sethi - President Mahilla morcha, Randeep Wazir - Academic Director IDPS, Monica - Advocate, Sunita Dutta - Entrepreneur and Karishma Dutta - Dentist.
They concluded the discussion with statement that woman should support woman to rise in this society. General awareness about woman right is need of hour. Every person should change the mind set and encourage men to be better parents at home.
Husbands need to be male models to their children and family by respecting their wives and allowing them to live full lives, through paying attention to both their wive's career and non career aspirations and spread message to society " where there is women- there is magic.
Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) celebrated International Women Day (IWD) on the theme "Gender Equality, Empowerment of Women".
The objective of international women day was to focus on women's issues and raise awareness on women's rights and gender equality.
District youth coordinator NYK Jammu Nisar Ahmed Butt President youth clubs Chatta Gujrah Shakti Kumar and President Mahilla Mandal Jyoti Choudhary Kanchan Mahhila Mandal Amandeep youth club also participated in international women's day.
In fortnight poshan pakhwada across the District different programmes in each block of Jammu and Samba by NYK in collaboration with youth club members and Mahilla Mandal and National youth volunteers.
