CEO SMVD Shrine Board felicitates prize winners of sports festival

KATRA, Mar 8: Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board today gave away prizes to the winners of various sports competitions at the valedictory function of the 2-day sports festival for women organised by the Shrine Board at its Sports Complex at Katra as part of the celebration of International Women's Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO of the Shrine Board congratulated the prize winners and other participants of the various events organised during the sports festival. He added that the participants have demonstrated tremendous sporting talents and skills. He also greeted the participants on the International Women's Day.
The participants of the sports festival were from various educational institutions of Katra and the surrounding areas, female staff of the Shrine Board and students of SMVD College of Nursing, Kakryal.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB, in his welcome address, gave details of various events organised during the sports festival. Among those present on the occasion were Mrs. Garima, heads of various educational institutions besides a large number of female employees of the Shrine Board.
In 200 mtr girls race, Meena Sharma of Govt. Degree College Katra won gold medal, Ankita Sharma and Vaishnavi of SMVD College of Nursing won silver and bronze medals respectively. In 100 mtr girls race, Meena Sharma of GDC Katra won gold medal, Akansha of SMVDCoN got silver and Laxmi of GDC Katra bronze medal. In 50 mtr girls race, Akansha and Arti of SMVDCoN won gold and silver medals respectively while Ankita of GDC Katra won bronze medal. In tug of war, the team of Sports Complex Katra was declared winner whereas SMVDCoN as runners up. In table tennis, Anu Priya of Sports Complex Katra was declared as winner and Rimjhim of Sports Complex Katra as runners up. In kho kho, Sports Complex Katra was declared as winner and SMVDCoN runners up. Similarly in symposium, Neha Jamwal of SMVD Gurukul got first place, Nikita Sharma and Mehak both of SMVDCoN shared second place while as Meena Sharma of GDC Katra got third place.
In 200 mtr senior category race, Richa Sharma of Niharika Complex won gold medal, Girija of NES and Usha Rani of Niharika Complex won silver and bronze medals respectively. In 400 mtr race, Usha Rani and Raj Kumari of Central Office of the Board won gold and silver medals respectively while Usha Sharma of YRC won bronze medal.
