ADDC reviewed the developmental work of Kishtwar Municipality

Kishtwar, Mar 8:To review the functioning of Municipal Council Kishtwar,Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik convened with elected representatives of the Council and the officials.
As per the details available with Early Times, the President Municipal Council Kishtwar, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, Vice President,
Firdoos Ahmed Mingnoo, councillors and other officials remained present in the meeting.
The President of the elected Urban local body apprised the ADDC Kishtwar of various problems in the Kishtwar Town besides held a detailed discussion about the languishing work of Drainage system in the town which is suffering due to the abolishing of engineering wing of MC after its upgradation into council.
During the meeting threadbare discussion about various other issues related to contaminated water supply,frequent power cuts, certain irregularity and mismanagements in tiling and drainage works in streets which may lead to increase in cost exponentially,replacement of old electric poles with new poles were held.
The elected body also highlighted the issue of non functional of water filtration plant at Semna colony due to lack of attention from concerned authorities as a result of which the public of Kishtwar town are forced to consume the contaminated water at the cost of compromising with their health.
After giving a patient hearing to their demands ADDC assured them that their problems will be resolved in a time bound manner and directed the concern authorities to redress the issues immediately.
While focussing on the issue of some mis-managent in the developmental issue which has come due to absence of engineering wing of MC, he inform the councillors that as per new guidelines the engineering wing of R&B department will be assigned this task and directed the XEn R&B Kishtwar to mitigate the issues as soon as possible in coordination with MC.
He further directed Muncipl authorities to expedite the developmental work for the welfare of public.
ADDC asked the newly established MC to generate more revenues for the effective working of the institution besides asked to keep regular supervision on the taxes which is being collected by the Officials.
