Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 9: After it’s launch in Srinagar on Sunday, former Minister and president of Apni Party Altaf Bukhari is likely to launch his new bandwagon from Winter Capital on March 15.
Sources close to party said Apni Party wants to take both the regions of UT along to provide a viable political alternative in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said party leaders who met at Srinagar yesterday have tentatively decided the date for launch of new party from Jammu as giving due attention to Jammu will help it in emerging as a political alternative in J&K.
Sources said that already leaders from various political parties from Jammu including Congress and PDP from Jammu region have showed their willingness to join Bukhari’s bandwagon that includes former Ministers and legislators. The new party leadership is also of the opinion that Jammu can play a crucial role in changing political scenario in the UT after abrogation of 370 and 35 A on August 5 and 6 last year and conversion of the State into UT on October 31 later, sources added.
Sources said Apni party leadership unlike N C and PDP wants to give equal space to both the regions so that no region feels discriminated or Monopoly of other.
Sources said the new party has restoration of Statehood to J& K on top of it’s agenda. Besides, bringing of domicile law and jobs guarantee to youth of J&K will also remain top on it’s agenda while the leadership does not feel it advisable to lure and mislead the people of Kashmir on cheap slogans like autonomy or self rule.
Sources said party leadership Is also of the opinion that ambiguity in the policies and programmes of N C and PDP who unnecessarily took cudjles with Delhi by ranking up controversial issues like autonomy and self rule have done greatest damage to people of J&K and it is high time when political parties of J&K should work for bringing Kashmir’s more closer to New Delhi for prosperity of the people and development of the region.
