| YRS demands maintenance of old Akhnoor Bridge | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) urged the administration to keep maintain Iron Bridge of Akhnoor which connects peoples of Akhnoor with Jammu.
President Yuva Rajput Sabha, Surinder Singh Gilli, while addressing media persons, said that from last several years Iron Bridge of Akhnoor, which was constructed on Chenab river connects people of Akhnoor region with Jammu region. And this bridge was constructed by Indian Army and from last several years maintenance of the said bridge was done by Indian Army and also a routine checkup of the bridge also been done by Indian Army daily. Gilli said that from last five six years, the day when the bridge was handover to Police no such routine checkup or proper maintenance of the Bridge was done.
Gilli further urged to Central Govt., and administration of UT of J&K to look after the Bridge of Akhnoor and maintain the Bridge properly before some casualty happened in future, as proper maintenance was not done from last more then seven years. He further said that maintainance of the Iron Bridge should be done as soon as possible before any unnecessary event happens. |
