Kashmir Displaced District calls on RRC, lists demands

JAMMU, Mar 11: A delegation of Kashmiri Pandit migrants under the banner of Bharatiya Janata Party Kashmir Displaced District called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner T K Bhat at his office chambers and put several pending demands pertaining to the KP community before him for early redressal of the same here today.
The delegation was led by president BJP KDD, T N Bhat.
While highlighting the demands, Mr Bhat said that monthly cash assistance of Kashmiri migrant relief holders be enhanced to Rs 25000 per month per family from present slab of Rs 3250 per head as prices of essentials have gone sky high and with s meagre amount being paid to them was not sufficient.
He said the shops constructed 4 years ago at Jagti camp be allotted to deserving applicants. The delegates laid stress on streamlining of engineering wing of Relief Organization besides redressal of genuine problems of PM Package employees. The uneducated youth of the community be also provided one job one family as has been done in neighboring state of Punjab.
Mr Bhat also demanded release of compensation to gutted houses of KPs in the valley and deletion of tedious M-Forms from the current voting system of migrants besides one time compensation for over aged youth who have been facing brunt of exiled life right from the beginning, he added.
The demand of proper provisions for supply of pure drinking water to Jagti colony in particular and other KP migrant colonies in general was also put before the Commissioner for his consideration by the delegates.
The RRC gave patient hearing to them and assured that their demands will be taken up at relevant fora for early resolution.
Those who were part of the delegation include Shuban K Pandit, Vinod Pandita, Vishal Jotshi,Rakesh Fotedar and Kamal Warikoo.
