Ch Manmohan Singh tours Samba border
3/14/2020 11:08:16 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: Ch.Manmohan Singh President AIJMS J&K along with his team toured Samba Border area today.
They covered over many border villages Barota, Ramgarh, Raipur, Pangdour, Sordi and Glaat. He was also accompanied by Ch. Darshan Singh BDC Chairman Ramgarh, some sarpanches and ex-sarpanches Ch. Prempal, Tejinder Singh, Ch. Omprakash, Mohan Singh Bhatti, Reena Choudhary and few other biradari leaders.
Ch. Manmohan Singh and his team took this opportunity to interact with the residents of this area and understand their issues. The residents asked Ch. Manmohan Singh to raise their concern over not receiving any kind of compensation for the loss of their crops. Its been more than a year and still they have received no word from authorities. They also asked him to put forward their concern for the rents of pump set in field. For the last two years, because of the indefinite rains, they have not been able to use these pump sets, but the rent for them and the electricity bills are piling on, which they are in no financial condition to pay.
Authorities must confirm their predicament and they should be exempted from paying rent and electricity bills on these pump sets. Anothet issue was raised by the people. They complained to Ch. Manmohan Singh that they are having issues with the working of Revenue Deptt. When the head of the family dies, the transfer of the girdowri of the land to the next head of the family has become very difficult. Sometimes it takes years for the official confirmation. Revenue department officials make it very difficult for them to access the records and apply for changes.
Moreover this is not the first time revenue department officials have delayed the proceedings for their files. The compensation files for displaced person of 1965 & 1971 war, have not been forwarded. People are unaware as to the status of the current whereabouts of their files. This is a grave matter but the authorities have frozen this issue, while this issue needs to be forwarded and they should be paid for what their elders lost in the war.
Ch. Manmohan Singh asked the residents to be patient and give him some time to get in touch with the authorities, he will try to access the situation with both the revenue department files. But with the compensation files of 1965 and 1971, it is important for our people to unite with each other and maintain a common ground to raise their demands against authorities. He said that now is the time to unite for our issues, for the benefit of our coming generation, to look past petty issues towards main issues. Our demands are genuine and with the right approach we can take these to the right platform. People of these area thanked Ch. Manmohan Singh and his team for coming to their aid.
They said with Ch. Manmohan Singh at the helm of their biradari, they are assured that they will not be cheated with and their concerns will be dealt with in an honest way. They appreciated him and his team for continuing to conduct tours regularly. Ch. Manmohan Singh was accompanied by; Ch. Sham Lal District President Samba AIJMS, Capt.Tirath SingH tehsil president Samba AIJMS, Ch. Rashpal, Ch. Ghaar Singh, Ch.Tara Chand, Mohan Ch. Surinder Ch. and some others.
