PNB-XI beats Gladiators XI in T-20 match

JAMMU, Mar 15: The team of PNB-XI today beat Gladiators XI in Cliff Hanger T-20 cricket match by three runs here today.
According to press release, splendid century by Raghav and some inspired bowling performances from Vivek Suri, Narinder Singh and Mandeep Singh contributed to the win of PNB XI.
PNB XI led by Vivek Suri won the toss and elected to bat first. PNB XI suffered early blow as opener Rohit Saini got dismissed at 10. But Raghav was at its best scoring a brisk century in just 56 balls studded by 10 sixes and 4 fours. He was supported by Pawan Parihar (31 runs) and Vishal Khajuria (10 runs) which helped the PNB XI to set a challenging 161 runs target on scoreboard. For Gladiators XI, Kushal and Akshay took 1 wicket apiece.
Chasing the target of 162 runs, Gladiators XI started on a flier and scored 42 runs in power play loosing only 1 wicket. But they failed to consolidate the opening start after double strike from Vivek Suri in 8th over of the match.
Recovering from the early blows, Gladiators XI showed signs of aggression when Akshay and Kalyan took over the PNB XI quicks with steady partnership and looked dangerous.
But PNB XI bowlers maintained their composure till the end and denied 10 runs in last over thus won the match by 3 runs.
Vivek Suri spearheaded the bowling attack with 2/23 while Narinder, Mandeep, Amjad, Arvind shared 1 wicket each. Raghav for his 100 runs was declared as Player of the match.
