Chaos and confusion among general public after lady was reported positive test for COVID-19

SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Choas and confusion was seen among the general public of Kashmir division after a lady from Srinagar area who had a travel history of Saudi Arabia tested positive for coronavirus on the previous day. Meanwhile railway authorities suspended train service till further orders; all the deputy commissioners imposed section 144 Cr Pc for restriction of public gatherings thereof.
According to sources that, so for there was no case till Tuesday, but on Wednesday late evening first positive case of Coronavisrus was reported after a lady from Khaniyar-Khayam area who has returned from Saudi Arabia where she had gone to perform the Umrah.
Around twenty teams of doctors and paramedical staff in full protective gear were put on job, which were collecting the details, supposed to be vital for containing the infection from reaching to others, said sources.
Sources said that, amid this scare, a huge deployment was put in place to restrict the people to gather in units or they should not come in contact with a lady whose test has been found positive for Coronavirus, adding there was no traffic at all in the central Lalchowk of Srinagar city.
District Magistrate Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla have issued their orders where they have advised people not to assemble and avoid large gatherings at public place across their districts in addition to several preventive measures.
However sources also said that, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir has issued an order vide no: RTOK/MVD/2020 dated 19/03/2020 that reads, to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
It is hereby order that no bus service/Mini Bus service/Maxi Cab service/auto passenger service shall ply in district Srinagar with immediate effect till further orders, said an order that is in possession of early times.
Order said that, further no public transport shall enter district Srinagar from the north, south, or central district of Kashmir division.
While as railway department has also issued an order vide no: 13.B dated 19/03/2020 that reads, in view of the spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) apprehensions in the valley, as a precautionary measure, the Banihal-Baramulla and vice versa rail services may please be suspended with immediate effect till 31-03-2020, matter most urgent.
Meanwhile sources also said that, the orders of safety measures have been issued but, they are hardly implemented in letter and spirit, as general public hardly bothers about this deadliest diseases, and the concerned departments have also failed to restrict the general public to gather at various places.
There was a huge rush on ATMs, after which people were seen busy in marketing as they think that, this disease may not spread at large.
Many people stored rice and other essential commodities in advance as they believe that it is better to stay indoors, as tall claims of government falls flat on the end of the day, sources informed.
