NMC hails LG to retain Civil Secretariat in Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 15: While hailing the decision of UT Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Administration regarding 2020 Bi Annual Darbar move under which offices of civil secretariat have been retained to function from the winter capital from itself and in view of COVID -19 as WHO has already declared it a pandemic. President of the National Mazdoor Conference Subash Shastri appealed to the Lt Governor to make it permanent feature which would be in the interest of both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
In a statement issued here, Shastri said that this move by the Lt Governor will reduce the considerable load on UT exchequer. As per the order of the Government, the civil secretariat in Jammu and Kashmir has been allowed to function at both places till June 15 which Shastri described it as historical one. Shastri pointed out that this experiment can be in the best interest of people of both regions and also the employees there after month of June. Shastri further added that this decision will utilize for the development of poor, down trodden, along with for the regularization of the services of several thousands daily rated workers in phased manner.
Shastri said the decision to extend the country wide lockdown till May 3 by the Prime Minister was a welcome step adding that it is the only alternative to fight against dreaded virus. Shastri also said that people must know the gravity of the situation and maintain the social distancing at all costs.
