Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Apr 15: At a time when Rajouri Administration has been making die hard efforts to let public follow guidelines particularly social distancing to fight against COVID-19 but Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches seem to be hardly bothered to these instructions which can be seen from haphazard long queues of people outside as well as inside these banks.
Sources told Early Times that the operations at government owned JK Bank branches are being undertaken without proper implementation of guidelines and have been posing serious threat to the precious lives. Absence of security personnel has been making things tough to curb spread of coronavirus.
"The JK Bank at Nowshera and Gujjar Mandi in Rajouri town were seen crowed and people with long queue outside the banks, who were standing very close to each other violating the instructed distance of one meter. There were no mandatory circles made to instruct the people visiting the banks to avoid infection from COVID-19," they alleged.
They further said that the branch managers have not been taking the matter seriously and putting people in grave danger due to their negligence.
"The bank managers have failed to apply the security measures in the banks. Even the security personnel in the banks were hardly seen in maintaining proper distance. Banks should not rely only on police to maintain social distancing in the bank rather it should take proactive steps," they said.
DDC Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, when contacted, said that he had received several complaints in this connection and has directed to branch managers to maintain social distancing between the visitors. He further said that he has also talked to SP to make arrangements of police personnel outside the banks.
