EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, Apr 23: Woman Sarpanch of Manjakote Samreen Khan today received threat call from a local person for intervening in a family matter which was brought to her knowledge.
According to sources, in order to sort out a family feud in Manjakote panchayat some people supporting a member wanted the matter to be reported to police but few others informed who were against such step informed the local Sarpanch Samreen Khan about the matter after which she decided to settle the issue in panchayat.
However, the intervention of Sarpanch irked some unscrupulous elements who started to threaten her.
While talking to Early Times, the Sarpanch Manjakote, Samreen Khan said that she had received information about family dispute which occurred due to some heated arguments. “Some people were forcing a family member to report the case in police and demanding lodging of FIR but I opposed it and I told both the parties to bring the matter before Panchayat where senior people of panchayat will sort out the issue,” she said. She further said that when petty matters can be solved in panchayat then there is no need of going to police.
“Moreover, I told them if issue could not be solved in panchayat then they can go to police,” she said.
She further said that some people have threatened her for her action by saying that they would implicate her in false case by planting narcotic in her house.
She further informed that she had intimated the entire matter to DDC Rajouri as well as to SP Rajouri and has demanded action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, when contacted SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that he has received the complaint in this matter and assured that action will be taken against the culprit as per the law.
