Abdullah family’s appreciation for SMC mistakes Jammu as Srinagar
4/23/2020 11:34:21 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 23: Even as former Chief Minister and National Conference president Omar Abdullah has been showering heaps of praises on the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, other members of the Abdullah family also seem to be on the job of SMC appeasement.
One of the family members of the Abdullah family seems to be so desperate to appreciate the SMC that she mistook pictures of Jammu Municipal Corporation as carried by a news portal as that of Srinagar.
“Looking at these visuals makes me so proud of our Srinagar municipal corporation and the highly professional work they have been doing over the weeks to keep us safe. We are in much better hands here!,” the Abdullah family member tweeted on her account.
Interestingly the pictures as carried by the media portal were of Bhatindi locality of Jammu where the Abdullahs have their palatial villas.
It is pertinent to mention that NC has become conspicuous for showering praises on the SMC. It is pertinent to mention that the SMC is headed by a Mayor who was formerly associated with the National Conference.
But he had quit the party to join the Peoples Conference led by Sajjad Lone to contest the municipal elections as the NC had that time announced to boycott the polls.
The NC had subsequently expelled the said politician from the party.
But during elections numerous allegations had surfaced that the NC was contesting the elections through its proxies.
Several faces, who were linked to the so “grand old party” of Kashmir had contested the elections as independent candidates.
The National Conference on the other hand had been refuting such allegations that it had any councilors in the SMC or other local urban bodies.
“But now the party is so desperate to appreciate that they are mistaking even Jammu as Srinagar,” said a political analyst.
Despite repeated attempts the member of the Abdullah family who had made the tweet couldn’t be contacted for comments.
