RAMBAN, Apr 23: The Ramban District in Jammu province today witnessed first COVID 19 postive, who was detained from a truck on way from Jammu to Srinagar.
While divulging the details, senior officials told the Early Times, that following the surfacing of positive case in the District, the contract tracking of the close contact has been started adding that few police personnel and others including a cook had been put under quarantine immediately.
Meanwhile, as major boost towards the fight against Coronavirus in Ramban District that witnessed first case today since the lockdown was imposed in country some four weeks ago,
568 persons completed 28 days surveillance while 113 are under administrative quarantine besides 693 are under home quarantine in Ramban till today.
As per official data available with Early Times, 1261 persons had so far completed 14 days Quarantine period in the District.
Among those who completed the quarantine as well as surveillance including 37 having foreign travel history and with local travel history included 1698.
103 persons had been tested for Virus out of which 96 samples are negative while the report of 7 other samples is awaited and only one test has been found positive.
Meanwhile senior officials told the media persons that one positive case of novel coronavirus has been reported today in district Ramban whereas positive patient has already been under administrative quarantine.
The positive patient according to officials has been shifted to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
It is pertinent to mention here that same patient is among those who were nabbed by the SHO Batote at Nashri while they were clandestinely traveling in a truck toward Kashmir valley during lockdown on April 16.
Test of all of them were sent by the administration and their reports are awaited.
