Director Health Services Jammu issues clarification on ET news report

JAMMU, Apr 23: In response to a news item published in April 17, 2020 edition of Early Times under the heading “CMO Kishtwar takes 2-day off amid pandemic, visits Jammu”, the Director Health Services, Jammu has made a clarification over the matter.
Director, Health Services, Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma in a communication addressed to the Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, J&K Govt, the copy of which was also received by the Early Times office issued clarification over the subject stating that the CMO Kishtwar had moved to Jammu with prior permission from District Administration and it was under the notice of the undersigned. The District Magistrate (District Development Commissioner) Kishtwar had granted permission to CMO Kishtwar to move from Kishtwar to Khour village in Akhnoor area of Jammu in connection with a sudden domestic medical emergency on April 14, 2020 adding that the CMO returned back to Kishtwar on April 15, 2020, said the communiqué.
Director Health Services further clarified that CMO Kishtwar followed all the protocols regarding COVID-19 while moving from Kishtwar to Jammu and back to Kishtwar adding that there is no order regarding ban on travel of a government officer from one district to another as the officer many a times has to travel to Jammu for official purposes.
