Terror groups fighting a lost battle
5/12/2020 12:00:33 AM

The internationally designated terrorist and chief of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin, acknowledging defeat after the elimination of self-styled Hizbul commander Riyaz Naikoo in south Kashmir last week, is an indication that Pak sponsored terror groups are aware of the fact that they are fighting a lost battle.
The terrorists have been on the backfoot since the Pulwama attack last year as most of their commanders and the cadres have been killed. Soon after the JeM suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden car into a CRPF convoy on February 14, last year on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Pulwama, which left 40 CRPF jawans martyred, security forces launched an “Operation All Out” against the terrorists and succeeded in wiping out JeM in the Valley. Other terror outfits also were almost cleaned off. At present the strength of Hizbul in Kashmir has reduced to double digits with no commander left. According to the media reports Pakistan has launched another terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) to mislead the world that the terrorism in Kashmir is home grown and Lashkar and Jaish are no more operating in the Valley. The infighting within the terrorist groups in Kashmir has also broken the back of terror group leaders like Salahuddin. It appears that Pakistan is now making every possible attempt to tell the world that terrorism in Kashmir has got nothing to do with Pakistan and Kashmiris are themselves managing the show. But the fact is that the terror bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) are trying to give a new dimension to terrorism in Kashmir. They have been waiting to carry out a major strike since August 5, 2019, when the Government of India, announced its decision to abrogate J&K’s special status and divide it into two union territories. Since then Pakistan sponsored terrorists have made many attempts to do something big but they haven’t succeeded in their nefarious designs as all their attempts have been nipped in the bud.
Salahuddin accepting a defeat can be part of a big ploy to handover the game to the foreign actors with local faces acting as their stooges. Pakistan and the terror outfits being sponsored by it are in no mood to call off the war. They want to keep the pot boiling as they only believe in spreading hatred and violence. The only way to deal with them is to make them taste the dose of their own medicine.
