Jammu, May 22: Contrary to government claim for enhancing testing capacity amid return J&K residents who were standard outside the J&K, the ground reality exposes what the field staffs is doing.
At least 107 peoples who arrived Jammu through a special (Shramik Train) on May 16, and put under administrative quarantine at Tawi Mahal, Udhaywala alleged that due to mismanagement of administration, they were forced to stay there because their test reports are yet to come. “We arrived here (Jammu) from different parts of the country and our blood samples were taken at Railway Station Jammu on May 16, unfortunately the tests reports are yet awaited”, told one of inmate over telephone to Early Times.
“We are panic and worried the results of report, here some senior citizens, children, women and some woman are pregnant but the staff deployed here have no answer of our suffering”, the inmate said, adding that they waited for the test report for six days, and today, “We try to reach media to express our sufferings.”
“The entry gate of the building we are residing in, have been closed by the administration, there is nothing here for us except the food which is being provided to us timely. We have children with us, unaware of the coronavirus pandemic the children demand chocolate, chips, fruits and many thing, but unfortuantley, despite of having sufficient money we are unable to buy an icecream, chips, fruits, chocolates for our children”, they said.
The inmates said that it is being claimed that the test for collected samples are being done same day, but the ground reality is beyond the claims. “The inmates are from different places, we know that with the return of people from outsides, the spike has been noted in the daily positive cases being reported in India including Jammu and Kashmir”, they said, adding that since all the inmates are residing here together, our sample taken a week ago, if someone contaminated here after his/her test reports, which taken a week ago comes negative and administration let her/him go, but what, if person goes home with the infection. |
