Omar’s Delhi visit fuels rumours; PDP feel isolated at all levels

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 27: Although former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has got permission to visit Delhi on health ground, his visit to the union capital has sent a shock wave among already demoralized cadre of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The left-out leaders of the PDP, who were not detained after August 5, 2019, are of the view that no one at Delhi-be in opposition or ruling party, is ready to have any relation with PDP due to communal and separatist approach adopted by the leadership. On the condition of anonymity, a senior PDP leader said that opposition parties of the country are still in touch with NC leadership and many opposition leaders had opposed detention of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.
“Except issuing a customary press note, not even a single opposition leader has aggressively opposed decision of the J-K government to extend three-month PSA on Mehbooba Mufti”, the leader said and disclosed that many opposition leaders have made it clear that supporting PDP at this crucial time would be proved counterproductive in their native states because PDP leadership has crossed all limits.
There is a feeling among PDP leaders that Omar Abdullah has gone to Delhi to hold interaction with opposition leaders there and also to explore possibilities of open channel of communication with the Centre
“Finally I’m in Delhi for the 1st time since August 3, 2019. There is nothing political about my visit, whether linked to the matter above or the political advisory council reportedly being formed. I needed a change of scene & some medical follow ups & that’s why I’m here”, Omar tweeted after reaching Delhi.
“I appreciate that people with more time on their hands than usual would like to read more in to this than necessary but that’s just time pass for bored minds. NC remains committed to challenging what happened on 5th Aug using all lawful means.”, he further stated.
