Uncertainty over opening of Darbar in Srinagar needs to be cleared: DBPS

JAMMU, June 4: Dogra Brahman Pratnindhi Sabha (DBPS) today said that while J&K UT Government is sparing no effort to effectively manage the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, there is grave uncertainty among the people of both the regions against certain arbitrary decisions taken by them to the guidelines issued by the MHA is one among them.
Lockdown-5.0 is being extended up to June 30 in containment zones and increasing number of corona victims in Kashmir region is a cause of concern. The J&K UT Government needs to remove all fear among the employees who form part of Darbar move 2020 by announcing abandonment of the move for particularly this year.
DBPS President Ved Parkash Sharma and other said while addressing a meeting of Sabha members here by maintaining social distancing norms.
Speaking on the occasion, senior member of the Sabha Advocate PC Sharma said that maintaining is better than cure added that elsewhere in the country the state /UTs and central Govt including corporate world is resorting to virtual meetings. Sharma suggested that there is need to hold such meetings in J&K also.
Tawi Andolan President Chander Mohan Sharma said that in view of the uncertainty that prevails due to earlier announcement of formal opening of Darbar Move at Srinagar will take place on June 15 needs to be removed by LG administration immediately by announcing cancellation of Darbar move this year.
Subash Shastri, VN Magotra , Satyanand Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma , Romesh Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, BS Jamwal, Sunil Sharma, TL Sharma, Jagan Nath, Shiv Ram, Prem Balotra, SomNath, Jialal, Raman Sharma others expressed hope that likely expenditure relating to the Darbar move which runs into about 200 crores of rupees can be utilized for controlling Covid-19 pandemic and demanded that saving on account of Darbar move should be diverted to disaster management affairs at the crucial juncture.
