6/5/2020 12:02:45 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 4: Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to notify the rules for the recruitment of various posts with questions arising that will Jammu get its due share or the ruthless discrimination will continue to call shots in the region.
According to the official documents in possession of Early Times, the government in its recent survey has found that the number of jobless youth in the state is witnessing a serious surge with numbers almost doubling in five years. Earlier, the figures had claimed number of jobless youth as six lakh.
The number is much higher than this at present. No less than 12-13 lakh youth of the state are jobless.
You cannot claim any work as a job which pays you paltry Rs 2-3 thousand a month- we have found, at least two lakh educated youth working on meager amount of Rs 150 a day.
The government has found that among educated unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir, 54.9 percent youth are from rural areas while the remaining is from urban areas.
The findings have claimed the number of educated jobless youth who have Post graduate degrees in their possession as more than Twenty thousand- something that nowhere in India is could be found. “We can understand that if a matric pass doesn’t find a job but the post graduates with degrees in sciences and humanities sitting idle is something that can have a disastrous impact on society during the times to come,” says a senior official who was part of the committee that conducted the survey of the educated jobless youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
The figures reveal that in valley there are more than 29034 graduates who are unemployed and in Jammu province the number of jobless graduates is 12426. The details inform that Kashmir division has 46703 people jobless who have passed 10+2 in various streams while as in Jammu the number is 27212.
The details of the survey informed further that more than four thousand five hundred registered degree holders of engineering jobless in the state are yet to find their livelihood while as the number of unemployed diploma holders is more than eight thousand five hundred.
Jobless ITI trained youth are five thousand five hundred in Jammu and Kashmir. The number is enough to prick the balloon of government that it would strengthen the vocational training institutes in the state and would employ the trained youth here.
