Early Times Report

Jammu, June 22: A senior IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir UT, who along with other officials was transferred to Ladakh UT recently, has not joined his new post due to his “unwillingness” to go there.
According to sources, it has been learnt that in order to get his transfer order rescinded, he recently met at senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, with the help of another BJP leader and sought his help to remain in JK UT.
Sources further informed that during the meeting the bureaucrat was assured by the senior BJP leader that he would help him. The officer, whose transfer order, was issued last week is still holding on to his position and is issuing various administrative orders.
“As per rule, immediately after the transfer order is issued the officials have to leave the place at once to join new post but in this case, it has been observed that the IAS officer has not joined his new posting due to his unwillingness to shift his base to Ladakh UT,” they informed.
If sources are to be believed, despite being transferred, the IAS officer issued promotion cum new posting orders of senior officials of his department. Moreover, another IAS officer, who has been eyeing the post, has been waiting for the officer to leave his position so that he/she manages to get the post.
