SRINAGAR, June 28: The number of positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir crossed the 7,000 mark and reached 7,093 as 127 fresh cases of the virus were reported today. So far 94 persons have died due to COVID-19 in Jammu & Kashmir.
Reports said that Srinagar reported 31 fresh cases followed by Budgam 22 cases, Kupwara 16 cases, Pulwama 11 cases, Udhampur 10 cases, Jammu eight cases, Kulgam seven cases, Baramulla six cases, Ganderbal four cases, Kathua three cases, Shopian, Anantnag and Doda two cases each and Bandipora, Ramban and Poonch one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir government today informed that 127 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 25 from Jammu division and 102 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 7,093.
Moreover, 91 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 31 from Jammu Division and 60 from Kashmir Division. Out of 7,093 positive cases, 2,683 are active positive, 4,316 have recovered and 94 have died; 11 in Jammu division and 83 in Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 3, 51,865 test results available, 3, 44,772 samples have tested as negative till date.
Additionally, till date 2, 76,057 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 40,065 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 34 in hospital quarantine, 2,683 in hospital isolation and 46,873 under home surveillance. Besides, 1, 86,308 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 874 positive cases, 590 active positive, 262 recovered, 22 deaths; Baramulla has 806 positive cases, 416 active positive, 375 recovered, 15 deaths; Kulgam has 766 positive cases, 252 active positive, 501 recovered, 13 deaths; Shopian has 732 positive cases, 190 active positive, 532 recovered, 10 deaths; Anantnag district has 635 positive cases, 166 active positive, 463 recovered, six deaths.
“Kupwara has 534 positive cases, 149 active positive, 380 recovered, five deaths; Pulwama has 440 positive cases, 235 active positive, 201 recovered, four deaths; Budgam has 393 positive cases, 177 active positive, 209 recovered, seven deaths; Bandipora has 289 positive cases, 38 active positive, 250 recovered, one death and Ganderbal has 90 positive cases, 28 active positive, 62 recovered,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 333 positive cases, 59 active positive, 267 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 269 positive cases, 99 active positive, 169 recovered, one death; Ramban has 216 positive cases, 62 active positive, 154 recovered; Kathua has 214 positive cases, 62 active positive, 152 recovered; Samba has 136 positive cases, 52 active positive, 84 recovered.
“Poonch has 121 positive cases, 21 active positive, 99 recovered, one death; Rajouri has 104 positive cases, 50 active positive, 53 recovered, one death; Doda has 74 positive cases, 16 active positive, 57 recovered, one death; Reasi has 40 positive cases, 14 active positive, 26 recovered; and Kishtwar has 27 positive cases, seven active positive, 20 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 7,093 positive cases, 2,239 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
