EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 18: Condemning Pakistan strongly, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has expressed deep shock over the martyrdom of three civilians and injuries to another person in the Pakistan's shelling in Poonch sector late last evening and asked the Modi govt to take results oriented measures to check Pakistan’s increased mischief and misadventures against India.
Strongly condemning Pakistan for resorting to frequent shelling and targeting of civilian population all along LoC and borders, JKPCC Chief G A Mir and senior Congress leaders have expressed deep shock over the casualties of civilians in Poonch last evening and expressed deep sympathies with the families, relatives besides solidarity with the suffering border residents. According to a handout, the entire leadership of the party has expressed serious concern over the increased casualties of the civilians and the army jawans during the manifold increased border Shelling incidents from Pakistan in recent years and questioned the BJP regime at the Centre over the failure to check and control Pakistan for its increased misadventures.
Every time it is claimed that a befitting response is being given to the Pakistan but the rising number of ceasefire violations and martyrdom of our jawans and civilians is intolerable.
The Modi govt must fulfill the commitment of silencing gun on the borders and questioned how come Pakistan dare to indulge in more than 3200 ceasefire violations in a year last year and more than 2100 till less than middle of this year. This is very unfortunate and serious thing as Prime Minister Modi had been attributing it to the weak policies of UPA govt, as per his perception. It should not have happened during Modi led BJP govt that Pakistan is daring to indulge in large scale mischiefs and misadventures including record number of ceasefire violations much greater in numbers than earlier govt.
The safety and security of border residents and our forces has to be ensured at all costs and govt of India has to adopt very effective and result oriented measures in this regard. Senior leaders to the statement include Former MP Madan Lal Sharma, former DyCM Tara Chand, former ministers and vice presidents PCC Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and DCC Presidents Poonch and Rajouri Choudhary Abdul Gani and Shabir Ahmed Khan.
