POONCH, July 18: “Teachers must take online teaching as a challenge and train themselves with modern technology to perform their role in a better way” said Dr. Dharminder Shastri, Prominent Academician and a Social Activist. He was addressing a virtual programme “Guruvandhan” organized by All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation here in Poonch today. Guruvandhan is one of the main programmes of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladfakh Teachers Federation affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh. The programme began with the Sarasvati Vandhana. Dr Shastri said that the teachers’ role was rapidly changing from the methodological change of classroom teachers to the social development and now to online teaching and counseling. Teachers should promote and adapt themselves in the changing scenario to take the responsibility for the betterment of the students.
He said that the role of Teachers cannot be underestimated and since time immemorial Teachers performed their role for the betterment of the society and guided the society for the overall upliftment of the society in general and students’ community in particular.
Dr Devraj Thakur, Stater President AJKLTF in his address asked the teaching community to perform their duty with professional zeal and contribute in all ways as the students community has to bear losses due to CPVID-19. He stressed on the need for specialized courses for the teachers community which should train them to deal with situations like we have been facing. Teachers’ from across the district took part in the virtual Guruvandhan Karyakaram. Darshan Bharti, State Vice President, Ratan Sharma, State Secretary, Mohinder Bali, Convenor Poonch unit of AJKLTF, Sanjeev Dutta, District President, Jeevan Parkash, District Secretary, Neetan Sharma and Yougal Kishor also spoke on the occasion.
