SSS launches tree plantation drive in cremation ground Gazian

JAMMU, July 18: A social organisation Saksham Samaj Sankalp (Triple-S) in collaboration with the Halqa Panchayat Kotli Mian Fateh of Miran Sahib Block organized a second plantation drive at cremation ground Gazian.
Earlier they had planted 30 plants and in second phase 40 plants including Sukhchen, Alstonia Scolaris, Guava, Loquat, Java Plum (Jamun), Mango, Litchi were planted.
The members of the organization worked every morning in the past week to dig the holes for this plantation. The Secretary of the Saksham Samaj Sankalp(Triple-S), Chander Mohan stated that this is the second phase of the plantation drive here and after covering area of Gazian, the plantation drives shall be continued in the adjoining areas too in the monsoons period. Chander Mohan stated the need and efforts they have put in to assure that these plants grow healthy and strong by involving local Panchayat and youth. The Panchayat members appreciated the efforts of Triple-S in sustaining the environment by planting plants and assured of all help in taking good care of the planted plants.
Triple-S members thanked the Sarpanch for the sensitivity shown by him towards the care of the environment and emphasized that the collaboration at the grassroots level shall go a long way in saving the environment for the good of the humanity. The other present during the plantation drive were Ruchika Sharma, Komal Sharma, Piyush Kant, Ravi Rai, Ravi Chander, Amit Sharma, Naveen, Jyoti.
