Poor, needy ignored by Govt, facing hardships: Bhardwaj
7/18/2020 11:57:12 PM
Early Times Report

Rattnal (Bishnah), July 18: Congress leader and member AICC, Mohinder Bhardwaj accompanied by Ashok Dubey (Organising Secretary PCCI), Digesh Jamwal, Kirpal Singh and other party leaders of Bishan tehsil presented food packets to more than 100 poor needy families of this village and a wheel chair to a physically challenged lady at a simple function held here on Saturday. The food packets contained essential eatables including dry ration and other items necessary for cooking.
Such relief has already been provided by the party in this area to large number of families.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhardwaj said that this food distribution camp was organised in continuation of the Congress’ drive launched at the directions of the party president, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, MP, to provide food to the poor and needy in the aftermath of the lockdown announced by the Union Government in connection with COVID-19 pandemic. The process will continue in other villages of the Bishnah and Arnia Tehsils, he added.
Castigating the Union Government and the J n K administration for totally mishandling the COVID-19 situation right from abrupt announcement of lockdown by Prime Minister to its equally abrupt unlocking, he said that the mindless and piecemeal approach of the Government has caused immense miseries to the people particularly living in rural areas and border villages.
Bhardwaj wondered as to why is the state administration turning a blind eye to the hardships being faced by these sections of the society and has done nothing till date to either provide regular supply of food or generate employment for them. The lofty promises being made by the leaders of the BJP and the administration through speeches and advertisements will not help solving the problem, he added.
He assured the people of the area that Congress was committed to their welfare and will take every possible step to help poor and needy. The events of the past six years have proved beyond any doubt that only Congress cares for all the sections of the society particularly poor, downtrodden, middle class, women, labour, farmers and youth he added.
Others who participated in the function included Jaswinder Singh (Panch), Mohinder Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Subhash Chander, Rakesh Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Rinku, Ashwani, Rajni Devi and her children, Ravinder Kour W/O Karnail Singh
