| First time since 1999 senior leaders boycott foundation day function of PDP | | |

Jammu, July 28: First-time since its formation in the year 1999, all senior leaders of the party including founder members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) boycotted foundation day function of the party due to ‘communal and separatist’ agenda being followed by the leadership. July 28 is the foundation day of the party. As a formality a function was held outside the ‘locked’ office of the party at Jammu in which no senior leader was present.
Interestingly the party has issued a handout after “celebrations” but in the handout name of not even a single leader was mentioned because all senior leaders were absent in the function and only some “opportunists” and “turned-coats” were present.
Credible sources said that during the last one year, Kashmir centric PDP leadership has sidelined Jammu based mature leaders and leaders of only communal and separatist thinking were projected to frustrate senior leaders.
Earlier PDP leadership had indirectly directed Jammu based leadership to take direction from a rape accused who was projected as dynamic youth leader. This rape accused was specially introduced before senior and veteran leaders of Jammu by party leadership and a clear message for given to Jammu based leaders that they have to follow directions from this “leader”, who had made every possible effort to put Jammu region on fire by creating communal divide.
Credible sources said instead of asking Jammu based senior leaders to organize foundation day function, PDP leadership has asked such communal elements to hold functions on their own and ignore secular leaders who were part of the formation of PDP in the year 1999. |
